A.D.A.‘s proposal in the invited architectural competition is a response to the client's intention to develop a complex of connected but independently functioning business centre and hotel close to the airport of Sofia.Our approach to the competition brief is based on the following principles:
• A balance between footprint size, volume and height of the building limited to 16 floors
• Creation of a biggest possible plaza in front the building
• Hotel and office blocks as integrated but fully independent parts of a single building
• One integrated underground level only
• The classical "SAS" business hotel structure - a two story plinth with tall body with rooms
• A possibility to extend the hotel with occupation of some or all floors of the office block, vice versa (depends on future balance between businesses
• Hotel rooms maximum protected against noise - smallest possible openings
• Use of materials, forms and features with "distant association" to airplanes and airports
• Simple classical layouts - simple structure, simple construction
• Concealed technical top floors ala SKYPER in Frankfurt
